With:
- The retirement from and denouncement of the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance by Mexico, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Venezuela, and Ecuador
- Russia's increasing defense expenditures, which are set to triple in the span between the years 2007 and 2016
- The ongoing shrinking of the U.S. military, which is currently set to reduce it to it's smallest size since before the U.S. entered World War II
- Russia's intent to expand Russia's global influence as evidenced by Russian negotiations with Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua to place military assets in those countries
We ask the U.S. Government to recognize this potential threat, and take appropriate diplomatic and military actions to stand firm and prevent any potential aggression against our borders and our citizens abroad.
