Recognize the right of The State of Vermont to secede and to re-establish The Republic of Vermont as a sovereign entity.

Whereas The State of Vermont is the largest producer of Maple Syrup in the United States; and
Whereas Vermont has the highest cow-to-person ratio of any state; and
Whereas Vermont is a New England State with a fierce tradition of independence; and
Whereas Ethan Allen was crazy, drunk and captured Fort Ticonderoga without firing a single shot; and
Whereas The Republic of Vermont lasted longer than any Texan attempt at independence; and
Whereas Vermonters don't really care for flatlanders, even if they are paying $120 for a lift ticket; and
Whereas good fences make good neighbors;
Therefore, let it be resolved that, invoking the power of the Declaration of Independence, the Natural Rights of Man and the Spirit of Boy-are-we-pissed-about-the-election, we petition to be removed from the Union.
