Austrian-born Ludwig von Mises was an influential economist. His contributions to the field include not only his theory of credit, but his discussion of economic calculation in the socialist commonwealth, among others contributions. Unfortunately Ludwig von Mises was neglected during his later life in America. Commemorating his date of birth would be a small token for a man who has contributed much to understanding of economics.
