Across America every State has different views on child custody. "Shared Custody" should be defaulted to parents and the child(ren) unless either party can prove such would not be in the minor child's best interest. Parental Rights should be recognized as a civil right to avoid the unnecessary pursuit of litigation simply to establish parental rights and a custody schedule. Currently, until a judge outlines your individual rights, you do not know what your rights are and they may differ from state to state. The government must recognize Parental Rights as a civil right accross America and establish default "shared custody" unless proven not in the child's best interest as the standard in America.
