Recognize the state of Palestine and support its admission to the UN to re-affirm our commitment to a two state solution

Given the recent Israeli election in which Prime Minister Netanyahu denounced a two state solution after years of claiming to support it but frustrating it in practice, the recognition of Palestine is the only realistic option the US has to show the world in general and the Israelis and Palestinians in particular, that we are sincere in our support for a two state solution. Without such action, there is no hope that peace talks based on a two state solution will be seen as serious by any parties involved.
