Taiwan, despite having its own currency, military, and government, has long been isolated as a nation because the US is not willing to recognize it as a sovereign state and nation.
The US currently stands by the One China policy, wherein it formally acknowledges that Taiwan is part of China and that there is only one China. Taiwan is not part of the United Nations as well.
As a small country of 23 million, Taiwan has few means to resist China's efforts to bring Taiwan back into its holds. We need democratic nations to support the Taiwanese people's right to self-determination and independence.
Please sign this petition for the USA to formally establish diplomatic relations with Taiwan, and to rescind the One China policy.
