Taiwan, despite having its own currency, military, and government, has long been isolated as a nation because the US is not willing to recognize it as a sovereign state and nation.
The US stands by the One China policy, wherein it formally acknowledges that Taiwan is part of China and that there is only one China.
As a small country of 23 million, Taiwan has few means to fight against China, which is keen on bringing Taiwan back into its holds. But we the people of Taiwan have every right to self-determination and independence.
