Recognize tattoos and body art as protected under "skin color" provision of civil rights act of 1964

Per Subchapter VI of Chapter 21 of title 42 of the United States Code, "skin color" is recognized as a trait that shall not be discriminated upon by employers with 15 or more employees. As things like religion and creed are accompanying traits that are protected, it is the opinion of the petitioners that "skin color" should likewise be a trait that is freely chosen by the individual. By having skin pigmented via the tattooing process, involved parties are in effect selecting their skin coloring. The petitioners are proposing that body art should be protected under the aforementioned code; the proposal should be observed by those employers affected by the original statute, federal and private.
