The government ignored the voice of the people when metric was first introduced in the 1930's. This has cost the nation billions of dollars due to loss of a space mission to Mars.
Do we really want to be the only nation using an antiquated system? How much longer before the only remaining nations of Myanmar and Liberia decide to switch to metric? Are we too ignorant to convert to hectares, km/h, liters, degrees C?
It would simplify teaching and eliminate at least a week of study per year of school. This would allow more important study than learning conversion tables. Plus, it helps make the world a simpler and less confusing place.
