Recognizing the American People

Created by R.W. on March 12, 2014

We are asking the President to exercise his presidential powers as the head of the executive branch to instruct the U.S Census to recognize "American" as an ethnicity. Americans share common language, nationality, culture and beliefs. These facts are evident enough for "American" to be considered an ethnicity. We are not advocating for special federal treatment. We ask the President to officially recognize "American" as the first ethnicity based on a common set of ideals ,culture ,language and geographic occupation. Americans come in many variations but all believe in freedom. Americans are distinctly different from our worldly peers and seek to be recognized as such. A nationality describes only where a citizens is from or live. Americans are more than that.
