recommend that all government maintained playgrounds be separated from driving and parking areas by a fenced enclosure.

Created by K.M. on June 20, 2015

Something is regularly missing in children's safety at our local playgrounds. Many city and state parks, and likely national parks as well, have children's play areas that are adjacent to busy roadways and parking lots and yet have no fenced enclosure separating the children from this imminent threat to their safety. Additionally, parents of multiples, parents of young children close in age, and parents of children with certain disabilities, may not even attempt to use these playgrounds because of the danger of a running or wandering child. Those who do take the risk to enjoy the community playground may end up having to choose to let one child fall off of a climbing structure to prevent another from running in front of a car. Protect our children! Fence the playgrounds!
