Recommend to congress that families who send children to private schools get tax considerations

Created by J.N. on January 28, 2013

Currently, families that send children to private schools up grade 12 are not give a tax credit for education expenses. some families can easily afford these costs, but some struggle to afford a better education for their children. With public school choice programs, the per pupil cost follows the student to another district but only if it is a public school.

This doesn't make sense. I propose that a tax credit, based on the per pupil cost in the child's district, be granted to families with a household taxable income below $150,000.00.
