Recommend Congress introduce a constitutional amendment to state legislatures to enact Congressional term limits.

Created by J.G. on December 17, 2012

It has become a widely accepted notion that the main cause of our federal government's inability to govern is due to its politicians constantly campaigning and yielding to special interests and their money. Therefore, if members of Congress had their number of terms limited (i.e. House of Representatives = 6 terms/12 years, Senate = 2 terms/12 years), this would extinguish the majority of influence produced by corporations and other special interests.

The era for life-long politicians in Congress can come to an end by the President "recommending" Congress introduce a Constitutional amendment limiting their number terms served. With his backing and enough pressure from "We the People," there is a strong chance that 3/4's of the state legislatures would pass the new amendment.
