Many folks deny the reality of climate change, and many of those live in areas that may be especially vulnerable to the effects of rising sea levels and more unpredictable and violent weather. I think Congress, in recognition of this, should go on the record by voting to prohibit the use of Federal funds to relocate individuals and businesses affected by any of the consequences of climate change.
This action should be an "easy sell." It will guarantee that public funds will not be allocated or spent to fight what many see as a phantom threat. If Congress were to refuse such action, it would surely demonstrate their true beliefs.
