By signing pledges to special interest groups, members of the House of Representatives and the Senate are in violation of their oath of office to the country and its people. These pledges are to a small minority and in most cases prohibit Law makers from moving forward or making critical decisions that have an effect on the nation and its people. This practice needs to be abolished and should be considered unconstitutional.
We see the effects of these pledges today as our Representatives come to a stalemate time and time again over the simplest of decisions that need to be made. Our Representative were sent to Washington to represent the people and not special interest.
