The petition is a request that the President recommend to the Post Office Department that we honor one of our Countries' great rags to riches stories, the life of James Brown whose influence on modern music and dance influenced so many including Michael Jackson, Prince and so many others. If Frank Sinatra in pop music and Bob Hope in Comedy can be honored, how can we not honor the man who influenced so many types of modern, urban music and whose music is still so important. James Brown's music is the most sampled music even today. Additionally, Mr. Brown entertained for over fifty years all over the world and gave pleasure and enjoyment to all who saw or heard him; even those who were not already fans. As long as we are honoring entertainers, how can we not honor James Brown?
