The headlines say today, that unfortunately, after nearly 40 years of marriage, singers The Captain and Tennille are filing for divorce. The duo, brought us such feel-good hits in the 70's as 'Love Will Keep Us Together', Muskrat Love', and 'Do It To Me One More Time.'
Knowing that the Captain and Tennille were seemingly happily married, enforced a sense of what is good and right about this country, and was a level of unspoken comfort for us, since all the way back to the Nixon administration.
We ask that, Mr. President, you do not let this divorce happen during your accomplished 8-year term. Please, if at all possible, step in and council the marriage of Mr. Darryl Dragon, and Toni Tennille, for the good of the nation.
