Reconize trained personnel of a nuclear facility as federal officers

Created by M.M. on February 20, 2013

Pass legislation to include trained personnel of the physical security organization of a nuclear facility, licensed by the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, responsible for maintaing safeguards and protection pursuant to the licensee's security plan, as federal officers.

Pursuant to federal law, such facilities must maintain a physical security organization, which must undergo, qualify and requalify to the highest level of federally established military and law enforcement training and education. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission holds these personnel and their facilities to the highest standards, and that the license of the facility is dependant upon the ability of such personnel to meet and excel at the level of other federal law enforcement agencies.
