More than 50% of the generation in which we currently live in have tattoos. Including some of our serving veterans. Thousands of newly qualified willing recruits are being disqualified because of their tattoos, having their dreams of joining the military turned down. A tattoo does not mean that you cannot serve your country to the best of your ability, it does not make you a "bad" person, although No extremist, indecent, sexist or racist ink should be allowed. Some young people make these choices when they are young and naive with no idea of how it can impact their future. This new policy needs to be reviewed and modified to make it work for the better of our country. The military should give all United States citizens an equal opportunity to serve our country without discrimination.
