Acknowledge the extensive pollution involved in nuclear energy, particularly the nuclear fuel cycle. Mining and refining Uranium for nuclear energy emits as much CO2 as traditional gas-fired power stations, and it costs on average, 6 times as much as wind and solar. Recognize the cost; that with every kilowatt produced by nuclear energy, six kilowatts could be generated from alternative clean sources. Mr. President, please reconsider the Federal Government's stance on Nuclear Energy and focus on truly green sources of electricity.
