Dear Mr. President,
We would like to request you to suspend aid to Burma because just recently the Burmese police used force to clear the peaceful protesters from a copper mine of Mon Ywar in Upper Burma. Many of them were seriously injured by the government's security forces. Some got severe skin burns from tear gas and smoke bombs made from phosphate.
The people of Burma still do not have the right to protest peacefully against a profiteering joint-venture of copper mining between a Chinese weapon manufacturer and the Burmese government. Since President Thein Sein took office last year, there has been yet no considerable proof of progress toward a democratic change for everyone.
