reconsider its travel to WalMart, which legitimizes a company that otherwise does little for people and the environment.

WalMart Corp. is dedicated to the idea that low consumer prices can be attained by depressing wages and benefits; curtailing employees' overtime; ensuring that most employees are part-time; limiting upward mobility of employees; interfering with fair labor practices; and union busting. WalMart's environmental stewardship is a failure; promotes causes that conflict with environmental stewardship; and fails to use green energy solutions in a substantial and effective manner. This petition requests that President Obama not travel to visit a Walmart store in California to celebrate the company's "efforts" at increasing energy efficiency in light of the fact that WalMart does little to reduce its carbon footprint and is a poor example of a socially conscientious corporation.
