In 2003, Dr. Robert Zubrin presented an impassioned testimony to Congress in regards to his Mars Direct project, which would use early Apollo technology to send humans to the Red Planet, following rejection by NASA officials in the early 1980s. As a direct quote from the meeting, "It shouldn't be humans to Mars in 50 years, it should be humans to Mars in 10."
I will conclude with two main questions:
Is this administration to follow in the footsteps of the previous administration - leaving only more decay and war debts in its wake? I ask the administration, are you Kennedy enough to stand up and go to Mars in this decade, "and do the other things,...because they are hard?"
Mr. President, what will you do in your final term? You don't have twenty years to make history. "Forward."
