Reconsider the negative effect the Medical Device Tax will have on the U.S medical device/ biotech industry (U.S jobs!)

Created by M.D. on January 16, 2013

The Medical Device Tax component of the Healthcare Reform has real, tangible and likely devastating consequences for one of the few U.S industry segments where growth, innovation and worldwide recognition were still applicable descriptive elements.
One of the 'last standing' industries where R&D, manufacturing and sales/marketing still coexist happily and successfully ON AMERICAN SOIL. That is, until 2013. The Medical Device Tax will take away 2.3% of SALES (not profits)... translation? anyone in the industry knows that developing new products takes investments on the R&D, manufacturing and sales/marketing front. With this new tax, the money to reinvest in these areas is going away. This money comes from profits, after everything else is paid for!. Mr. Obama forgot basic business 101.
