reconsider the SSI and SSDI marriage policy to make marriage more attainable for disabled citizens.

Created by A.B. on May 31, 2013

As it stands, if one with a disability is to get married we lose our SSI or SSDI benefits as well as medical insurance or medical assistance programs. While we are equal in that marriage is available to us, this policy does not take into account that many of us in the disabled community are on a fixed income all of our lives. Nor does it take into account how costly having a disability is. Having a disability is already limiting enough. Let's lose the limits on marriage.
