On January 22, 2013 America is slated to begin supplying its first shipments of F-16 fighter jets and M1 Abrams tanks to Egyptian President Morsi and his political party the Muslim Brotherhood. This gift on behalf of American tax payers totaling $213,000,000 was originally approved by lawmakers while deposed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was still in power. I petition President Barak Obama to reconsider this antiquated gift since it may no longer be in the best interest of the American people to arm a country that he himself sees as neither an enemy nor an ally of the American people. At this advanced state of the deal only the president can act to suspend this transfer of arms to Egypt. Arming troubled nations does not bring peace and friendship. We should know this by now.
