As of May 1st, 2016 the Government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico announced they cannot pay the bond payments due May 2nd, 2016. The payment could not be made without cutting essential things for the Puertorican people such as public hospitals, schools, etc. The crisis is strangling the people and it will only continue to do so.
