Recreate the Civilian Conservation Corps and Give People a Chance to Work While Reconnecting Communities

Created by J.M. on November 07, 2012

The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was a work relief program created in 1933 by FDR to provide work for unemployed and unmarried men from age 17 to 28. I would like to see a new Corps created to connect communities, parks, states, and the country by working together to create a sustainable pedestrian and biking infrastructure. Let's put our unskilled, unemployed labor to work and build the paths and trails the will begin to reconnect our people and our country on a different level. It does not need to be called the CCC, but I know a few hundred or thousand teens and adults that would prefer to create something, get some exercise, learn new skills, and get paid for it. Let's help those Americans get off the couch and create a new path to the larger community.
