Our nation's roads, bridges, and other infrastructure need upgrading, rebuilding, and replacement. What better way to do this than by actively recruiting and training the long term unemployed in this country! Long term unemployment levels are still at all time highs. These people, with proper training, could get jobs rebuilding our nation's infrastructure, which would save us billions in future costs and improve the U.S. economy. The cost would be partially offset by these new workers paying their income taxes. Let's do this, Mr. President.
