By signing this petition you are asking the government to redirect a large portion of the defense budget to fund the space program. The United States spends more money on defense than China, Russia, and Europe combined. If we instead invest a large portion of that money into space exploration, we will have the edge in decades to come.
Just look at history: Spain embraced exploration of the new world - beating all the other nations - and enjoyed a long lasting golden age. Lets invest in something constructive: we have more than enough money allotted to defend ourselves, and at that matter more than enough to defend our global interests.
