What if the government redirected a portion of oil subsidies away from corporations, and into the pockets of everyday American folks like you and I?
Oil companies would have us believe that to eliminate subsidies would mean exposure to massive price surges. And while we can debate the validity of that business model I do know this.
With all those oil subsidies coming our way, we would effectively be insulated from those "imposed" hikes and thus numbed from the financial pain of what would be in my opinion retaliatory price surges.
The other cool benefit? It would allow the government to utilize the remaining subsidies to fund a national transition toward renewable energy sources and freak out the fossil fuel industry all at once!
