During the Civil War, the government of the United States committed various atrocities against the Southern states, most notably during Sherman's "March to the Sea," during which the rights of innocent civilians and non-combatants were were infringed by the army. We, the signers of this petition, ask for an investigation of these crimes, and restitution for the parties involved.
