At the age of eighteen a person can make decisions for the country by voting, and they can defend everyone's freedom by sacrificing their lives for their country, which can include carrying a firearm. So if an eighteen year old is able to do this for their country why do they not have the right to defend themselves while they are in their own country. this can be done safely with background checks and mental evaluations to make sure the person is stable enough to carry a firearm.
