The age to purchase handguns in the United States is 21 years old. Yet in most states an 18 year old is allowed to own a handgun but they cannot buy it themselves. This petition is designed to change that. The people of this country become legal adults when they turn 18.
The 2nd amendment states that we have the right to bear arms and if we are going to be considered adults at 18 there is no reason we should not be allowed to purchase a handgun and handgun ammunition.
