Reduce Agricultural Subsidies to Big Business and stop subsidizing an Oversupply of Corn. Reduce bad market distortions.

Created by S.B. on March 07, 2015

Less than 1% of Americans work the land today and large operators take it the majority of agricultural subsidies. Our present Agricultural policy encourages an oversupply of commodities such as Maize also know as Corn. Farmers sell their corn at a loss when subsidies are not factored in. Besides violating the spirit of Capitalism, it has contributed to todays circumstance that unhealthy foods in less expensive than healthy food. The cheap price of corn has lead to much of our diets to consist of corn in the form of high fructose corn syrup and beef from Corn fed Cattle. Corn Syrup has made less healthy food cheaper than things like fruits and vegetables. Beef from Corn Fed cattle may be less expensive but it contains less nutritional value and more fat compared to grass fed cattle.
