reduce all elected officials (federal, state, and local) wages to federal minimum wage, and eliminate all benefits.

This petition is created in response to our elected representatives, who supposedly work for and represent the American people, denying even a debate on the raising of the federal minimum wage. These people, who vote to raise their own wages (without any question at all) every single year, are completely out of touch with the lives and welfare of their constituents. People work multiple jobs, with no benefits (no, we can't afford "Obamacare"), and still live far below poverty. We, as the American people, can not stand to live like this any more.This petition proposes that all elected officials, at all levels of government, have their wages cut to the federal minimum wage. Also, eliminate all benefits of their position (insurance, housing, transportation, etc).
