Reduce all elected officials publicly funded transportation expense to a universal public transport pass.

Created by J.H. on October 24, 2011

Many elected officials are very well off financially, and all currently earn far more than the average wage of their constituency. They could afford their own transportation if they desire private transport.
Giving them a universal public transport pass would encourage our representatives to have daily contact with real citizens, hopefully learning what their opinions on policy are, and direct experience with the public transport systems where ever they may go in this country. This could help to improve the quality of public transportation, and help in a small way to reduce taxpayer expenses.
Representatives should also have use of standard scheduled military transport so that they can have regular personal contact with servicemen.
