We the people, in a desire to hold our government accountable to the framers ideals of a more perfect union find the recent congressional standoff and 16 day shut down unacceptable.
For 16 days in the Fall of 2013, our government has been shut down. Regardless of and individual’s position on the issues at hand, the tactics employed to address said issues hurt America both at home and abroad. Our legislators are empowered by us, and responsible to manage an economic engine in which we are all cogs.
We hereby petition the White House for a 16 day tax holiday for 2013, which would be a .043% reduction in all corporate and personal income taxes for the 2013 tax year. Yes we know this will make running the country harder, but that’s what happens when you don’t do your job.
