We must reduce the amount of fossil fuels that are being used to produce energy. If we look ahead to the future, we will see that our supply of these non-renewable sources of energy are depleting quickly. We must invest scientific research in creating a new, environmentally-sustainable source of energy that is renewable and creates a cleaner atmosphere. According to the Institute for Energy Research, "fossil fuels meet around 82 percent of U.S. energy demand." We must reduce these numbers to ensure our nation's prosperity regarding energy, as well as the rest of the world.
