REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF TIME NEEDED TO BECOME A NATURALIZED US CITIZEN TO 3 YEARS FOR ALL US PERMANENT RESIDENTS

Created by M.K. on December 24, 2012

The current US immigration policies are out of date. Too much attention has been focused on illegal immigration while virtually no aspects of legal immigration are addressed. It is for this purpose and in the best interest of the citizens of the United States that all US permanent residents have the time reduced to become naturalized citizens from the current and lengthy 5 years to 3 years. Permanent residents have contributed greatly to society, they have paid their fair share of taxes and are responsible and law abiding residents of this nation. This nation is made up of immigrants, and our government as well as fellow citizens should encourage permanent residents to acquire US citizenship.
