In response to the Federal Government’s long-term and continued fiscal irresponsibility, and the Executive Order signed by President Obama on December 27, 2012 granting pay raises to salaries for the Vice President and all members of Congress, the United States Citizens signing this petition require that the following changes be made to Federal salary levels.
Salaries for the Vice President and all members of Congress shall be reduced by 30% from levels in effect on December 24, 2012, effective on December 31, 2012. Said salaries shall remain frozen until December 31, 2014 when they shall be reduced by an additional 28.5%, effective on December 31, 2014, and remain frozen until the United States deficit is eliminated and a balanced United States Federal budget is signed into law.
