Reduce the annual salary of Congress as a body as well as reduce benefits to match that of the average federal employee.

Created by A.F. on December 13, 2012

This petition is to address the disparity between the pay and benefits available to members of Congress as opposed to the average federal employee. The goal here is to address a few major issues of concern regarding how Congress has been handling their positions as representatives of the people and their states. The major points to consider are as follows:

1.) Pay for members of Congress should be reduced by 30%
2.) Vacation for members of Congress may not exceed 30 business days.
3.) Benefits of members of Congress must be made to be more reasonable and commensurate to the benefits available to an average federal employee as opposed to the outrageous benefits they enjoy now.
4.) Eliminate the salary for life portion of benefits for all elected officials.
