Reduce the annual salary for members of Congress from $174,000+ to $100,000

Created by L.H. on February 16, 2013

Limiting the annual salary from $174,000 to 100,000 for all members of congress.
Limit the amount of retirement pay to $50,000.
Reduce the lifetime benefits each congressional member will receive after their term.

Congress was created to be a voice of the people and not a fiscal drain on the economy. Reducing the entitlements and pay of Congress will help the deficit and hopefully reduce the number of career political figures at the National level. Career politicians are often responsible for many of the stalemates as they often put their party or personal beliefs ahead of what is best for the country

If Congress did what was best for the country, would they have voted to give themselves raises
