Reduce Congressional and Administration salaries to the U.S. median.

Created by P.T. on December 28, 2012

I am proposing the "Congressional and Administration Pay Adjustment Act." Upon its ratification, Congress and the White House will receive an annual salary equal to the country's median income level during each year of their tenure and their current assets will be frozen. The rest of their normal salary will be placed into a fund from which they will receive an additional stipend to pay for living expenses for their families. After each election cycle, if they get re-elected, they will receive the remainder of their normal salary. If they do not get re-elected, the remainder of their normal salary will be placed directly into the General Fund to help pay down the debt THEY created. They will also no longer receive lifelong federal benefits.
