Being a member of Congress is not a "profession" and should not be the monopoly of wealthy "blue bloods" that it is today. This is a "public servant" position meant to be filled by people who put the nation before themselves (much like our military). The following changes need to take place in order to regain our nation's strength:
- Congressional pay should be set at 125% of the DC regional average salary from the year prior.
- Eliminate all "expense" payments - live off of your salary.
- Eliminate congressional retirement plans and let them invest in IRAs and 401Ks like the rest of us.
- Eliminate special health care and let them use the same systems Veterans and other government employees use
- Implement Term limits (2-terms of 4-years).
- No person with a felony conviction can serve
