Sacrifices made by our career military men and women far exceed those made by those who spend the majority of their lives in the halls of Congress. Serving only a few years in Congress currently earns politicians a lifetime of plush and costly benefits unavailable to those who have served in harm's way. Many in our government have an obvious lack of appreciation for what our military members do for our nation.
Efforts to reduce spending by attacking the benefits of retired military members should be redirected to those who are truly taking advantage of our tax dollars, i.e. Congress.
