reduce the copay by 50% for seniors on social security to see physician specialists for health care services

Created by M.G. on February 12, 2013

Senior citizens who are dependent upon social ssecurity as their primary income find it challenging to pay Physician Specialists their high copay fees.. Currently the average copay for an Internist is $25.00. Having one Internist this is manageable for the majority. However a medical issue can require you to see multiple Specialists, paying $40.00 copays for each visit - in some cases more than one visit per Specialist. This is very impactful to our seniors, especially my mother who recently had to see 7 specialists paying $40.00 each and had to see at least half of them more than once. That takes away her resources bugeted for food, housing, and personal expenses. We need help for our seniors by reducing their copay by 50% for specialists.
