70 years for a copyright is far too long. The copyright only benefits the wealthy corporations; poor individual people simply don't have the money and time needed to enforce any copyright they have. Copyright extremely limits public education, and is causing the United States to fall behind in intelligence.
We should transition to a society with total freedom of information, or certainly where nobody can be jailed or fined for any information owned or distributed.
