Reduce debt by 1.2 trillion per year. Increase the monetary base to fund Social Security and Medicare.

Created by V.M. on March 06, 2013

Enact the FOR THE GOOD OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AMENDMENT. I propose that the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 be Amended as follows: All money required to fund Social Security and Medicare will not be counted as debt, but rather shall be accounted as a simple increase to the monetary base for the good of the American people. This safeguards Social Security and Medicare in perpetuity, lowers national debt by 4.6 trillion immediately, and saves 12 trillion dollars over ten years with no increase in the volume of dollars in circulation. If other nations adopted the same policy, world starvation and physical suffering from medical conditions, would be reduced on the largest scale in history. The elderly and sick would become a source of economic growth rather than a target for budget cuts.
