Reduce "dog in a watershed" charge in Utah from a Class B misdemeanor to an infraction!

Created by C.J. on June 22, 2016

Have you ever wanted to take your furry pal on an outdoor adventure, & not arrived in the correct location or at the correct hike you were intending upon? Perhaps you found yourself in an area and it turns out that your dog isn't actually allowed. Understandable that you may have to pay a fine if caught in this area, even if it was a mistake and you're on your way out. BUT there is NO reason for the charge to be a Class B misdemeanor, which is in the same category as charges of assault, resisting arrest, DUI, or reckless driving just to name a few. As a result of being issued the citation, not only do you have a mandatory court appearance, but that Class B misdemeanor will now open up a criminal record for life, you will get an Offense Tracking Number, have to be fingerprinted at the jail.
